An unusual auction in Kingsford last Wednesday left the crowd in stitches, at least one bidder enraged and the vendor very satisfied. A total of nine registered bidders competed for a two bedroom apartment at 11/98 Botany Street, Kingsford but two bidders arrived late, quickly registering to enter the fierce competition.
With a reserve of $485,000 the bidding was exhausted at $551,500 until a latecomer registered to make a bid of just $500. He eventually won the property at $554,000. The under bidder stormed out of the auction room after his bid at $553,500 was exceeded.
Ray White Maroubra | South Coogee agent Cameron Airlie said 60 bids were recorded, with the crowd in hysterics during the last 12 bids.
